5 Things We Love Right Now: September

Friday, 8 September, 2023

What's on our radar at the moment? Each month we'll bring 5 exciting coffee things that we're loving right now.

1. This amazing grinder for home espresso (and every other brewing method)

The Baratza Encore ESP impressed us no end when we put it through its paces in a cafe setting, so just imagine how your home espresso game will improve!

For this level of grinding quality, the price tag is very good value for money.

Want one?  For South Africans: MoreFlavour, For Global: Baratza

2. This limited edition coffee packaging (and the beans inside)

Abdullah Isaacs coffee content is so beautiful, and he always leaves our mouths watering and wanting to taste that brew! But how beautiful is this limited edition for a very special coffee from Origin Coffee. This is a coffee and producer that has won a lot of awards and

3. This 'Lucky Packet' concept from Now Coffee

Good news: This idea allows you to do a home blind tasting and guess the origins, so fun! We love to see this passion and attention to detail!

Bad news: This batch is currently sold out, but keep an eye on their socials, we're sure they will have another round available soon!

4. This ceramic work of art that is also a coffee brewer

The MK Drippers are beautifully handmade in ceramic and using some stunning colour ways. The very talented couple behind the brand MK Studio is Magdalena & Michal Kałużny-Włodarek, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They have a range of gorgeous ceramics and have found an unexpected niche in specialty coffee brewers!

The MK Dripper is modelled loosely off the Kalita Wave and can use the Kalita standard filter papers, but they also work with Sibarist Specialty Filters, should you be so lucky to get your hands on some.

It might also be World Barista Champion, Boram Um's go-to brewer right now!

5. This announcement about The Specialty Coffee Expo is happening in Cape Town in October
