The design of this space is a testament to the gallery’s ethos, a monochromatic and uncluttered layout. I found it beautiful how the simplicity of the space is far from ordinary; it serves as the perfect canvas for the true stars of the space, the art on the walls and the coffee in your cup.
The shop was filled with enticing aromas of freshly brewed coffee. I ordered a cortado that was served to me in a beautiful short stoneware mug. The gallery cafe uses a medium roasted Ethiopian coffee, from Bean There Coffee. My coffee was well rounded in flavour, balanced and an experience that celebrated the artistry of the barista and the quality of the beans.
I find Goodman Gallery to be more than a place to grab a quick coffee; it’s a space where artists, collectors, and creatives gather to exchange ideas and find inspiration. Goodman Gallery’s cafe is really a hidden gem within the world of contemporary art. To me it’s a reflection of the gallery’s commitment to pushing boundaries and creating spaces that challenge conventional norms, reminding us that art is not confined to canvases alone.
