So as you know Tribe is a collective of people who love coffee and we share all of our successes and our failures (weeelllll not those, I tend to take those responsibilities myself but hey). That being said, as I mentioned in our letter to you regarding the roast and its profile, we used a team of people to come up with the best roasts hence, we answered the below as a team.
How did you get into coffee roasting?
Chris - "I was opening cafe's in Germany for the cinemax ground and when I finished that i wanted to learn more about coffee so I went to Probat the ground-breaking masters of the roaster and took a full Coffee Roaster's course. Subsequent to that I roasted in Cape Town for Knead bakery, before joining Tribe."
What is your favourite coffee to roast currently?
Romeo - "Believe it or not it's the new Burundi from Sevenoaks. It's got so much sweetness this season and as part of our blend it really stands out nicely"
If you had to drink one coffee for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Origin, varietal, processing, roast profile)
Jake - "Malawi field blend from outside Thyolo or Malunie. Wet processed and a city + roast it's great as espresso, filter, moka pot. Just warm goodness"
What has been your favourite moment in coffee?
Trust - "Cupping, tasting and learning more everyday"
