This is what greeted me as I walked off the frosty sidewalk into the
Motherland Coffee Company branch in The Zone, Rosebank. What a wonderful sight these gentlemen were, Sifiso, Mike and Mandla made it their mission to get me caffeinated and happy, with those smiles and the signature Motherland blend of Rwandan and Ethiopian beans the mission was fast accomplished!

These are some cool cats. There is a definite vibe as one walks in to this burgeoning coffee empire. This flagship store is now the first of four branches, three in Joburg and even one in the Mother City, who knows what the future holds for this growing brand. Every little thing has been thought of, down to multi plugs for easy charging access and every convenience at your fingertips, the details make the space feel authentic and warm and the service just blows the coffee experience out the water. Seb, one of the masterminds behind this business is passionate about quality, but not only that, the process behind the quality, keeping it Fair Trade and African. He sent me home with their new blend, Toil and Triumph, Burundian Musema and Ethiopian Sidamo, sublime!
