Caffeinated creativity: A Coffee Cup Inspired Solution

Tuesday, 25 March, 2014
So yes, maybe our idolising of the beverage commonly known as coffee verges on the extreme sometimes, but look, people who drink coffee are doing exceptionally cool things while drinking the stuff. Let's take this very clever individual, Michael McDaniel. He turned a take away coffee cup upside down and launched a company to help give people struggling through displacement from natural disasters or civil unrest temporary housing. That's pretty fricking cool.

"In 2005, Michael McDaniel watched in helpless horror as Hurricane Katrina forced thousands of people out of their homes and into crowded, under-equipped "shelters". Growing up in Mississippi where he weathered lots of hurricanes with his family, he was appalled with the aftermath of Katrina and knew there had to be a better solution. Just days following Katrina’s landfall and with a humble coffee cup as inspiration, the Exo was born."
