Rockin' & Roastin'

Monday, 27 August, 2012
To paraphrase an old French dude (Jules Michelet), “Coffee, the mighty nourishment of the brain, heightens purity and lucidity; coffee, which clears the clouds of the imagination; which illuminates the reality of things suddenly with the flash of truth.” Ah yes, they knew it in the 1700's and we live by it today.

There is nothing that can convince you that everything will be ok and you will get through all your work, quite like a sensational coffee and a soothing soundtrack. Sometimes at the beginning of the week, you need to be coaxed into action, gently gently. That’s how today felt for me anyway. Some days I need Led Zeppelin or The Black Keys or Cage the Elephant and some days only Bob Marley or Ella Fitzgerald or Fleetfoxes will do, but today began in the office with a smooth, subtle chocolatey Aeropress using a medium roasted Ugandan Bugisu AB bean and these are the tunes that made my world spin into action.

Go on, put the kettle on.  Open the tin and let the aroma escape. Start grinding those beans. Put in your headphones. Block out the rest of the world to steady yourself for the rest of the week. It’s going to be wonderful.

What are you drinking today to which soundtrack? Get our feet tapping, maybe your experience will make someone else's day better too.
