How amazing are these custom made leather portafilter handle covers? Too beautiful!

There's a cool little buzz in Station Road in Durban these days. An area that not too long ago just looked another chop-shop off the bustling Umgeni road, over looking the carcasses of defunct train carriages, has seen the artisanal phoenix rise from the welding smoke. In it's place, an overhaul of the space and with it a collection of cool people, tradesmen and of the leather workers and delicious coffee by Savior Brand Co. is prominent.

On visiting, one is reminded of the alleyway leading up though Deluxe in Roodehek Cape Town. What one was a drive way is now a a steetside cafe and the facade, now an enticing invitation to the various little retail spaces within.

We interviewed Max a while back and when we heard about his new development we went on over to check it out. Always modest, he and his team have created an awesome spot to hang out for a cappuccino. As he said to us, it has been an eye-opener for him to delve into the world of coffee and there is no going back now!

Welcome to the coffee scene, already artisans by leather trade, we know quality is on the top of your list!

A man with a vision to uplift his community through leather works...and now coffee!
